Micaela McLucas

Micaela McLucas is an artist, photographer, and filmmaker native to the moon. Having been brought up between Los Angeles, California and Argentina, she continued the path of her nomadic upbringing by spending the past nine years working between LA, NYC, Paris, and now presently in London.

Micaela’s artistic formation is founded on her degree in Art and Philosophy from the Sorbonne, in Paris, and extensive travel around the world. Her colorful work straddles the fine art and commercial worlds and is known for challenging traditional attitudes of the female gaze through it’s intimacy. Micaela’s hunger to explore has had an explosive effect on her art work and her greater sense of wonder at being present in world.

She spent two years working with photographer/director Rankin, where she mastered every facet of developing global campaigns from start to finish. Micaela honed in all those skills and now applies them into her own practice as a freelancer. She has produced commercial and editorial collaborations with Refinery29, Adidas, L’Oréal and Ninjatune Records, and her work has appeared in magazines including  I-D, Exit, Hunger, Vice, Autre, The Editorial, and Paper, among others.

Micaela is a champion of authenticity and empowering other women by breaking down barriers in the arts and advertising.
