Ksenia Kulakova

Ksenia Kulakova is an award-winning, queer, dual heritage Director and Production Designer / Art Director. 

Her short film Goldfish won Best Long Short Film at Here Kyiv Short Fest, screened at Kannibal Fest, Berlin and Bogotrax, Colombia, and was selected for BENT Film Festival, Sacramento. Her debut feature film Revolutionart won Best Director, Best Narrative Feature and Best Supporting Actor at Liverpool Underground Film Festival and was selected for Seattle True Independent Film Festival as well as Manchester Lift Off Film Festival.

Her recent music videos include LUCID for Rina Sawayama, WHIP for Phantom Isle and projects for Hannah Rose Kessler. 

Ksenia is an experienced Production Designer / Art Director for narrative and commercial film. WWI short film Sapper Smith was nominated at Underwire Film Festival for her Production Design in 2019. Her credits include projects for Kleenex, Stella McCartney and recent music video Afterlife for Holding Absence.

Inspiration:

If I had to choose one, I'd say my babushka, but I think there's inspiration to be drawn and lessons to be learned from every woman, their fights, their warmth and their resilience.
