Julia Astok 

Julia Astok is a fashion and art photographer, who finds her inspiration through nature, poetry and the simple, yet magical moments of life.

Originally from Estonia, Julia graduated from London College of Fashion with a degree in Fashion Photography. She believes in the beauty of the human soul and captures it through her own melancholic and dreamy world. The dreamy essence of her work lies in her ability to create harmony between colours and her excellent use of light.

The female gaze is essential and inevitable in her work, having more than once felt uncertain about pursuing a career in the male-dominated world of fashion photography. Many times she felt that the fashion industry prefers women to be the subjects of photographs rather than image makers. Being female, young and foreign meant she had to fight her way through to be seen, and heard, and continues to do so with her ethereal images which speak for themselves.
