Fola Evans-Akingbola
Fola is an actress and BAFTA nominated filmmaker. She trained at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and Identity Drama School in London.
Since entering the industry in 2014, Fola worked on internationally acclaimed shows such as The Night Agent (Netflix), Ten Percent (Amazon), Black Mirror (Netflix), and Siren (Disney+/Freeform). Fola can next be seen in Netflix's new film Back in Action starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz.
Fola wrote, produced, co-directed and presented her documentary Untold Stories: Hair on Set which premiered on Sky in 2023 and earned Fola and her co-director a BAFTA nomination in the category of Emerging Talent: Factual. The film explores the lack of knowledge in the entertainment industry about Afro textured hair.
She is drawn to the art of storytelling and its power to change lives and make people think and feel deeply. Through her work, she hopes to explore what it means to be human and to tell stories that empower others. Fola is passionate about seeing the true diversity of humanity being reflected and represented in the arts both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
